Beading & Sequins Workshop

You’ll learn embroidery stitches and techniques to attach sequins and beads, as well as how to combine these to create design features to enhance a garment.

Goldwork Workshop

You’ll learn the techniques to attach different types of metal threads to create design features to enhance a garment. The workshop is designed for intermediate to experienced embroiderers. We recommend that beginners attend our Surface Stitches Workshop before this workshop.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Couture Embroidery | Class Size

Classes are small with a maximum of 10 students. A demonstration of each technique will be followed by hands-on experience with extra one-to-one assistance if needed. You’re welcome to photograph samples or to video class demonstrations

Your Tutor | Mary Brown

Classes are taught by Mary Brown, a graduate of the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court Palace. Mary is an accredited tutor and judge for the Embroiderers’ Guild of NSW. Her special interest is goldwork and she is the author of Goldwork Embroidery: Designs and Projects, published in 2007.  Mary is also a fine artist who specialises in drawing, oil and acrylic painting, relief printing, etching and screen printing. She uses her wealth of experience to inspire and create beautiful and interesting traditional and non-traditional embroidery designs.
